Defence for Children – ECPAT Netherlands (DCI-ECPAT NL) is looking for an experienced project coordinator with expertise in the field of sexual violence, abuse or exploitation of children. Do you want to support ECPAT members in Latin America and Asia in strategically preventing and addressing children's rights? Then we are looking for you as:
DCI-ECPAT NL promotes the rights of all children. We do this through research, capacity building, advocacy and legal advice, among others, in collaboration with our partners and where possible with children. We carry out our work in the Netherlands, but also in various countries worldwide through both the network of Defence for Children International and the network of ECPAT International. We partner with other organisations to achieve more together. At DCI-ECPAT NL, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the best interests of the child are the foundation and guiding principles of our work.
One such partnership is the Down to Zero alliance with Terre des Hommes, Plan Netherlands, Free a Girl, Conexión and Child Rights Coalition Asia. The Down to Zero alliance has been operating since 2015 to address sexual exploitation of children in countries in Asia and Latin America. This work has been financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in 2022 the Ministry awarded the alliance with another 3-year grant to carry out the ‘Stepping Up the Fight Against Sexual Exploitation of Children’ (SUFASEC) project.
DCI-ECPAT NL is looking for an experienced project coordinator to coordinate our role and activities for the implementation of the SUFASEC project. This role will work closely together with a project officer at DCI-ECPAT NL and the Manager Programmes and Projects for the implementation of this project. Advocacy and communication colleagues are also part of the project team. In addition, the role would sit on the Global Steering Committee with the other Alliance members and work closely with Alliance members and country partners.
As a children's rights organisation, we are committed to creating a team with diverse perspectives and we welcome all forms of diversity. We therefore actively encourage a wide range of candidates to apply, ensuring that our work reflects different cultures, approaches and thinking styles.
Defence for Children pursues an active protection policy for children. That is why we ask candidates to be willing to comply with our code of conduct and to cooperate when requesting a Certificate of Good Conduct.
If you are interested in this position, please send an application letter (maximum 1 A4) and CV exclusively by email to Martine Eschauzier, no later than 1 Januari 2024. For further information, please contact Lizet Vlamings, Manager Programmes and Projects.
