Sexual exploitation and sexual abuse

Contents

The training explaines what sexual exploitation and sexual abuse are, what kind of forms of sexual exploitation exist, the scope of the problem, and the impact of sexual exploitation on children. It provides information about the perpetrators and the victims, on available indicators, on what constitutes normal sexual behaviour for children and what can be done if there is suspicion of sexual exploitation or sexual abuse. A short film is presented, followed by discussion.


Target group

  • Teachers of primary and secondary education. 
  • Tutors of institutions, scouting, youth council, etc. 
  • Medicine students, law students, pedagogue students and students of social sciences.  

Duration

The presentation takes approximately 2 hours.


Language

The information can be given in English and in Dutch.


Location

Defence for Children International - ECPAT the Netherlands gives the presentation on location.


Material

A PowerPoint presentation is used, therefore a beamer is necessary. The film material can also be played on the beamer. A flip-over or a white board is necessary for the discussion


Costs

The costs are determined in consultation.
