The foundation Reflection- and Action Group to Combat Child Abuse (Reflectie- en Actiegroep Aanpak Kindermishandeling: RAAK) is an independent foundation established on initiative of Defence for Children International. Defence for Children International is represented in the RAAK executive board and holds its secretariat. RAAK was founded in 2001, based on the notion that the society must and can do more to combat child abuse. RAAK combines action and reflection by lobbying the government, members of parliament and everyone else who is professionally involved in combating child abuse. Moreover, RAAK organises symposia where all parties concerned debate with each other to improve the combat against child abuse.

The Minister for Youth and Family has used the points that RAAK has lobbied for in his policy, such as the RAAK working method, educational support for all parents and the notion that the government is and remains owner of the problem of child abuse.
