The travel industry has an important role in the battle against child sex tourism.



Sexual exploitation and sexual abuse

Contents

It is explained what sexual exploitation and sexual abuse is, what kind of forms of sexual exploitation exist, what the scope of the problem is, what the impact of sexual exploitation is on children, information about the perpetrators and the victims, which indicators there are, what normal sexual behaviour of children is and what can be done if there is suspicion of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. Also a short film is shown, followed by a discussion.


Target group

  • Teachers of primary and secondary education. 
  • Tutors of institutions, scouting, youth council, etc. 
  • Medicine students, law students, pedagogue students and students of social sciences.  

Duration

The presentation takes approximately 2 hours.


Language

The information can be given in English and in Dutch.


Location

ECPAT gives the presentation on location.


Material

A PowerPoint presentation is used, therefore a beamer is necessary. The film material can also be played on the beamer. A flip-over or a white board is necessary for the discussion


Costs

The costs are determined in consultation.
